What’s next for TEDxUCincinnati?

Hey Everyone!

My name is Shivam Shah and I am the president of TEDxUCincinnati. I am a 4th year Neuropsychology major with a minor in Philosopy. I would like to welcome incoming freshman, and to returning students, welcome back! We at TEDxUCincinnati have strived to bring you ideas. Ideas worth spreading. I am excited for this year and all that we have going on. Also, it’s not too late to join us!

This year, we are rolling out a number of new initiatives. First off, we are starting TEDxSalons at UC! Salon events are smaller events giving students and others the opportunity to try out giving a talk in a TEDx format. We teach and connect you with resources to become a better speaker! We also will have one student speaker at our Main Stage Event and speaking at the TEDx Salons will give you powerful experience to be a potential TEDxUCincinnati speaker!

The TEDxUCincinnati community will be holding two TEDx Salon events this semester: one coming up on November 9th at 6:30pm in TUC 419 and the other TBA. Salons are a great way for UC students get involvement! What’s most exciting about holding these new events? They are a great way for students to gain leadership and event planning experience! Both skills highly sought after in the workforce.  Those attending our monthly staff meetings, with some guidance from myself and a few other Executive Board members, will plan each Salon.

We will have other events throughout the year, so make sure to come to the next general body meeting which is can be found on our calendar at TEDxUCincinnati.com/calendar
